/ping

Server Configuration

Server administrators have access to many configuration options via /config.

Auto-Summary Channels

Configure channels where all posted links will be automatically summarized without intervention.

Use cases:

  • #tech-watch channel to automatically share and summarize articles
  • #learning channel for educational resources
  • #news channel for content curation

Domain Whitelist

Limit allowed domains to better control usage.

Examples:

  • youtube.com — YouTube videos only
  • medium.com, dev.to — Tech articles
  • *.votreentreprise.com — Internal blog

User Quotas

Manage bot usage by configuring quotas per user or role.

Ideal for Team plans where you share a global quota among multiple members. Admin can allocate X summaries/month per user or give unlimited access to certain roles.

Preferred Language

Set the default language for your server summaries.

By default, Recapix generates summaries in the content's source language. You can force a specific language (e.g., always in English) or enable automatic translation.

Best Practices

✓ Recommended

  • Use dedicated channels for auto-summary
  • Configure a whitelist to avoid abuse
  • Check your quotas regularly with /usage
  • Use ⭐ reaction to trigger summaries
  • Share summaries with your team (copy/paste)

✗ To avoid

  • Don't summarize copyrighted content without permission
  • Don't use the bot for spam or inappropriate content
  • Avoid summarizing the same content multiple times (smart cache)
  • Don't share your account credentials
  • Don't exceed your quotas (risk of suspension)
